There have been many reports on the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it is going to impact our lives from various perspectives. Larger organisations around the world have initiated the formation of a new department with themes like “Digital Labs”, “Innovation Centre”, “Digital Foundry”, etc. Some mid-sized organisations are taking baby steps on their “innovation” initiatives while the smaller firms are not completely unaware how AI can impact their market and business survival. The adoption of AI in the business world is generally in the early stages due to the field being new and the lack of awareness in the market. Most governments have now started to set up “innovation” departments to look for avenues how their ministries can be more efficient and productive with the use of AI. The challenges facing both the private sector and the public sector in the adoption of AI lies with the fact that the technology is very dynamic, the high cost of acquisition, lack of AI expertise and the inertia of AI adoption within their organisations.

Key Takeaways
– The different technologies around AI
– Case studies of AI application
– Business benefits from deploying AI technologies
